Intro Early Childhood Education

In this course, students will be introduced to the field of early childhood education through an investigation of the historical roots of early learning, as well as the current landscape, culminating with an examination of the current legislation and the role of the College of Early Childhood Educators in Ontario. Students will examine the role of the Registered Early Childhood Educator; working with children, families and professionals in a variety of different types of early learning environments: licensed child care centers, home child care, family resource centers, community agencies, and the Full Day Kindergarten classroom.
