IT Essentials
Description
In this course, students will examine computer hardware and operating system software. Through interactive exposure, students will be able to describe internal components of a computer and their functions, computer system assembly methods, desktop operating system installation and troubleshooting using system tools and diagnostic software. Students will also investigate peripheral and portable devices, wireless connectivity, security, safety and environmental issues. Professional customer service communication skills required within the IT service field will be discussed. This course will help students prepare for entry-level IT positions within various environments working with desktop, laptop and mobile computers.
