Leadership in ECE

Description

In this course, students will explore the role responsibilities associated with leadership, professionalism, and advocacy in their role as an Early Childhood Educator. Students will examine strategies that can be used as part of a professional development plan as they prepare to be "employment ready". The organization of early childhood programs will also be examined through an analysis of government policies, funding mechanisms, and relevant legislation related to early childhood programs. The student will investigate the process of application to the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario and examine the professional expectations and responsibilities of membership which includes the requirement for Continuous Professional Learning (CPL).
